The Fan Table draws inspiration from the rich cultural history of Chinese fans. In ancient times, fans were often given as gifts to symbolize kindness and the ability to navigate life's challenges with ease. The designers at Objective Gallery sought to capture these meanings and translate them into a contemporary furniture piece.

What sets the Fan Table apart is its bold combination of materials. The central piece of the table is crafted in the shape of a half-moon, reminiscent of a Chinese fan, and made from corrugated metal. This metal element is juxtaposed with tabletops made of stone and wood, creating a striking fusion of textures and colors.

The Fan Table's unique design allows for versatility in its use. The special semicircle in the center of the table can be used to display flowers or small ornaments, adding a touch of elegance and personalization to the piece.

Creating the Fan Table presented its fair share of challenges. The triangular structure, formed by a combination of wood and metal, had to be carefully engineered to support the weight of the tabletops. The Fan Table made its debut at the "COEXIST" exhibition in Shanghai, where it garnered attention for its unique blend of tradition and modernity. Designed by Bryce Cai, the Creative Director of Objective Gallery, this piece is a testament to his deep understanding of Chinese folding fans and their cultural significance.
